Kullu is a beautiful district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located on the banks of the Beas River in the Kullu Valley, and is surrounded by the majestic Himalayan mountain ranges. The valley is famous for its temples, beauty, and its majestic hills covered with pine and deodar forests, and sprawling apple orchards. The course of the Beas River presents a succession of magnificent forests , clad with deodar, towering above trees of pine on the lower rocky ridges. The valley is also known for its well-conserved culture and timeless rituals and is home to one of the most hardy mountain societies in the world. The locals communicate in Kullui, the local dialect, in their everyday dealings. The best time to visit Kullu is from April to October. The natives are mostly dressed in woollen clothes, owing to the high elevation of the region.
